In the year 1966, Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries. At that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to raise and lower the hoist. This mechanism really impressed a lot of customers and therefore, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, as the need for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, when the demand for new machinery to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. For instance, Genie went into production with articulated booms, light towers, man-lifts, stick booms and telehandlers.
Due to the economic downturn during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values. They partnered up with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Thus, all Genie equipment continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also committed to minimizing waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing exceptional support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line equipment.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy machinery are emission-free, quiet machines capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the equipment should be driven significant distances, like within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machinery along with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Compared to any of the different kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These machinery are ideal for limited access areas in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These machinery deliver supreme traction and the drive speed you require in order to travel around the job area and work site.
