Kalmar Dual Fuel Forklifts Wisconsin

Kalmar Dual Fuel Forklifts Wisconsin

Most of the time, businesses would spend a lot of money to purchase their lift trucks. It is vital, therefore to take good care of your equipment to protect your investment into the long run. It is really a good idea to know the procedures that are undertaken during the maintenance and care of this piece of machinery.

By starting up the forklift and listening closely how it runs is one of the best ways to tell how good the engine is running. For instance, if there are any knocks or misses, the machinery is faulty and this must raise several concerns. Additionally listen carefully for any squealing sounds which come from the belts because these sounds will provide you with a lot of information.

When carrying out maintenance, some of the main parts you will have to pay attention to comprise the safety warning devices, horn, the overhead guard, the lights and the gauges. Any burnt out light bulbs or faulty parts must be replaced as soon as they are noticed. It is also imperative to inspect the wiring.

When the above parts have been inspected thoroughly, proceed to the battery compartment in order to see if the terminals are clean. If the terminals are not clean, be sure to clean them properly. Each cell of the battery should be inspected so as to ensure the fill level is topped up to the regulated amount.

The next step is to drain all of the oil out of the machine and then change the filters. The fuel filters, hydraulic filter and the transmission filter must be regularly replaced. Before fitting them, be sure to write the date on the new filters by using a permanent marker in order to keep track.

Once the oil change has been carried out and new filters have been fitted, visually inspect the drive axle from beneath the machinery. Be sure to grease the axle if there is any grease fitting. Inspect the belts on the engine for any cracks or frays. If you find any, fix the issue accordingly. Next, check every other component of the machinery like the wheels. If any type of issue or fault is detected, be sure to deal with it immediately in order to make sure the machine is working at its safest and optimum levels.
