A container forklift is specifically used to unload and load big, heavy freight containers. They are utilized to shuttle freight on and off trains, ships and truck beds. Container forklifts are the biggest and most sturdy types of forklifts manufactured. They have to be very maneuverable on terrain that is uneven and have sufficient power and torque to raise large containers safely. The forks are rated according to the most weight they could handle. The capabilities of the forklift should never be exceeded and must be posted prominently in the cockpit.
