Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic lift trucks provide versatility and height. These units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck. The arm, or crane, is called a telescopic boom. The boom allows the operator to maintain a high degree of control while raising the cargo to great heights. Regular forklifts aren't able to move the cargo away from and towards the cab of the forklift, whereas a telescopic forklift allows that movement. The telescopic forklift is commonly utilized in both agriculture and construction. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is required.
In situations requiring high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments known as forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that allow the operator to apply uniform clamping force when picking up a load. It is available with a backrest which protects the cargo from damage.
A sleep sheet forklift will usually utilize a slip sheet attachment for storing systems that don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This type of system is useful for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A man basket is a lift platform designed specifically to raise staff. The basket attaches to the forks on the forklift, held in with a chain or strap that is to be directly secured to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the workers from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the worker's safety harness.
