Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also known as pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used in order to move materials and products around on wooden pallets using metal forks that are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight includes a pump which can raise the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by one person.
Pallet trucks should be operated carefully to avoid loss of control while lifting heavy loads. Equipment must be checked before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Make sure that the handle smoothly turns. The pallet must be stacked carefully to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.
To lower the forks and release air in the pump, squeeze the lever located on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be in the middle to ensure equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has completely cleared the ground. Do not lift the pallet too high or the forklift could unbalance.
Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and dragging it behind you. It is really not safe to push the pallet in front of you because the thrust can cause it to lose control. Slowly take turns and don't attempt to stop suddenly. Gradually stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
