Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names like: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk alongside the machinery as they pick up and move loads. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are highly maneuverable and fast.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and hence, it is not recommended to move unstable or tall loads utilizing these equipment. A rider might be the right answer if you are searching for a cheap way of moving cargo from one place to another. If though, you should move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the best option.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece machine made specially for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are very handy pieces of equipment in cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
