The forklift application all over the globe has grown in insurmountable measures in regards to the warehousing and manufacturing industries. A forklift is a powered industrial truck used for raising and transporting things. The machinery has gradually evolved and nowadays there are many modern designs for lifting and transporting objects. Over the last decades, the machinery has significantly grown and the designs have changed so there are a variety of trucks and many modern designs to meet every particular application. Loads are capable of reaching and lifting to greater heights than ever before.

The forklift is offered in a wide array of power types such as diesel, gas powered, electric, diesel and liquid propane or LP models. The load capacities of these models vary significantly since there are numerous manufacturers that build and design them. Like for instance, several units could reach a height of over 10,000 kg or over 3000.

The frame of the truck is the base of the power source and is the place where the other features are connected. These various features comprise the counterweight, an overhead guard and mast and axles. On the rear side there is a counterweight connected to the truck. This particular counterweight counterbalances the cargo which is being carried in order to keep the machine stable.

The machines movements are dictated by the operator who sits in the cab. The overhead feature likely consists of a metal roof made to protect the operator from falling objects. Hydraulic tilt cylinders mounted to the mast and the frame. These tilts pivot the mast in order to engage the load. The mast is a vertical assembly that lowers and lifts the cargo with the interlocking rails to provide lateral stability.

There are many warehouses or businesses in the manufacturing fields that use lift trucks for transportation and lifting on a daily basis. These days, there are a lot of different second-hand and new forklifts offered in the market at competitive prices.
